SBX seeks bauxite port building partners

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Apr 23 - Sierramin Bauxite (SL) Limited (SBX), a new bauxite producer in Sierra Leone, is seeking port building and related logistics partners for its bauxite project with the proven reserves of around 100 million tonnes, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We are now looking for partners to rebuild a port and related logistics," said the source, adding that Port Loko is around 17km away to its mining project with the proven bauxite reserves of around 100 million tonnes. They plan to transport bauxite by belts. The budget for port rebuilding would cost around USD15 million and they have finished financing USD70 million.
Based on the present production capacity of 5 million tonnes per year, they have 100 working staff now and mining machines are ready. They would supply bauxite Al2O3 46-50%min SiO2 2-4%.
Present mainstream prices for bauxite Al2O3 45%min SiO2 3%max keep at USD65-67/dt CIF China, unchanged from two weeks ago. The bauxite supply increased from Guinea and bauxite buyers anticipate lower prices.
