Dao Er Aluminum resumes bauxite production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Apr 23 - Shanxi Dao Er Aluminum Co., the only bauxite concentrates flotation producer in Shanxi, resumed operation from the middle of March and produced around 30,000t in March, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We resumed operation in the middle of last month and produced around 30,000t last month," said the source, who plans to produce around 50,000t in April and holds no stock now. They shut down operation in early November last year for the short raw bauxite supply.
With three production lines and the total production capacity of 800,000tpy, they produced close to 400,000t in 2022 and target around 550,000t in 2023.
Current mainstream prices for Chinese origin bauxite Al/Si=5.0 Al2O3 60%min in China keep at RMB480-500/t (USD70-73/t) Ex-VAT delivered, down by RMB5/t (USD0.73/t) from late last week because of the sluggish alumina market. For the reduced alumina price, most alumina producers in Shanxi and Henan maintain low operating rates now.
