BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Apr 23 – Most suppliers decreased their prices from late last week due to the weak demand. Currently, the mainstream prices for Chinese HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max stand at RMB8,600-8,800/t (USD1,250-1,279/t) EXW D/P at present, down by RMB100-200/t (USD14
A producer from North China mentioned, "We offer RMB8,800/t (USD1,280/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max with no concession at present, down by RMB100/t (USD14.54/t) from late last week". They just sold around 30t at RMB8,800/t (USD1,280/t) EXW D/P today . They hold pessimistic attitudes towards the market prices and predict the mainstream prices might move down in the coming week . They might decrease their price as well, but they also noted that they would stop their production in May due to the high prices of chrome ore. They received the quotation at RMB50/dmtu (USD7.27/dmtu) for South African chrome ROM38%min today.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 22,000t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, predicts to produce around 2,400t in April, unchanged from last month. They produced around 7,200t so far in 2023 . They hold no stock at the moment.
A trader from North China disclosed, "We quote RMB8,600/t (USD1,251/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max with no counteroffer at the moment, down by RMB100/t (USD14.54/t) from late last week".
