Ganluo Tengtai plans to resume green silicon carbide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Apr 23 - One of the major green silicon carbide producers in Sichuan, Ganluoxian Tengtai Silicon Carbide Co., Ltd., expects to put into green silicon carbide production again on 15th April, and predict to produce about 200t this month.
"We have been in suspension since late November last year due to the end of wet season and we would resume production on 15th April and expect to have the first batch of products on 20th April", a source from the company disclosed, noting that they would produce about 200t in April and expect an output of nearly 800t next month.
With a current production capacity of 12,000tpy, the company produced about 5,000t in 2022, and expect to produce about same volume this year. They hold no stock at present.
The present prevailing prices of green silicon carbide 98.5%min 10-30cm Fe2O3 0.45%max free C 0.18%max stand at RMB14,500/t (USD2,110/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Sichuan, on par with late last week. Because of the sluggish market demand, the market sees inactive deals. However, in view of the high production costs, market participants forecast that the prevailing prices of Chinese green silicon carbide would stay steady in the week to come.
