Indonesia Huaqing Aluminum to reach full production in three months

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Apr 23 - Huaqing Aluminum, a new aluminum smelter in Indonesia invested by China Huafeng Group, plans to reach full aluminum operation three months later with the production capacity of 250,000tpy, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"Our aluminum project in Indonesia will start full operation three months later with the production capacity of 250,000tpy," said the source, who launched operation from March 27 and might release aluminum from late this month. With over 180 electrolytic cells, they start 2 cells per day now, noted the source.
Located in Sulawesi of Indonesia, the first stage project might produce 100,000t of aluminum ingot in 2023. The overall designed production capacity is 500,000tpy.
Mainstream prices for aluminum ingot 99.7%min in China reached RMB18,530-18,580/t (USD2,690-2,697/t) delivered on Monday, down by RMB70/t (USD10/t) from late last week. The demand for aluminum remains weak now.
