BEIJING (Asian Metal) 31 Mar 23 - American indium ingot 99.995%min importers generally watched the market without any purchase plans over the past week. Currently, the mainstream import prices of American indium ingot 99.995%min stand at USD205-215/kg CIF US, unchanged from early this week. Insiders forecast that the prevailing import prices of American indium ingot 99.995%min would stay stable in the coming week considering that most exporters also keep the prices steady with wait-and-see attitudes.
An American consumer disclosed that they last imported around 100kg of indium ingot 99.995%min at USD217/kg CIF US early last week from a regular Chinese exporter, who still insists on USD217/kg CIF US for firm bids, the same as last week. As they hold enough stocks, they prefer to watch the market and also have no plan to build more stocks in April. The source said, "As the market keeps quiet and most exporters keep the export prices unchanged, they believe that the prevailing import prices of American indium ingot 99.995%min would stay firm in the upcoming week."
The consumer, based on a consumption capacity of 6tpy of indium ingot 99.995%min, holds around 800kg of stock now, almost the same as the end of last month. They expect to consume around 350kg in March, unchanged from last month. They consumed around 5t in 2022 and almost 700kg till now in 2023.
A trader in America noted that their regular exporters generally offer USD205/kg CIF US for indium ingot 99.995%min at present and most of the exporters refuse to lower the export price even for regular clients, the same as one week ago. As they only sold no more than 1t totally within March and still hold more than 1t of stock now, they did not build any stock over the past month and last imported around 1t at USD200/kg CIF US early February. The source said, "We believe that the mainstream import prices of American indium ingot 99.995%min would stay stable in the following week in view of unchanged prices from suppliers."
The trader, with a regular monthly trading volume of 2t of indium ingot 99.995%min, expects to sell around 1t this month, down by about 1t from last month.
