Fengyuan Carbon restarts normal prebaked anode production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Mar 23 - Pingyin Fengyuan Carbon Co., a small prebaked anode producer in Shandong of China, restarted normal operation from early March and might produce 12,000t this month, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We resumed normal operation from early this month and might produce 12,000t in March," said the source, who once cut production from the middle of January for the weak demand and produced around 10,000t in February with present inventories at around 3,000t.
With two baking furnaces and the production capacity of 160,000tpy, they produced close to 140,000t in 2022 and over 30,000t so far this year.
Current mainstream prices for prebaked anode S 3%max in China keep at RMB5,600-5,700/t (USD813-828/t) EXW, down by close to RMB200/t (USD29/t) from one week ago, as pet coke prices decreased. Prebaked anode producers in China predict lower prices in the coming week.
