BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Mar 23 - Dragged by the sluggish demand, the current mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China edged down by RMB200/t (USD29/t) to RMB35,800-36,300/t (USD5,200-5,273/t) delivered D/A 180 days from late last week. Given the firm prices of zircon sand, insiders predict the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would keep firm next week.
A consumer in Henan revealed that he bought 30t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB35,800/t (USD5,200/t) delivered D/A 180 days this week from a supplier who insisted on RMB36,000/t (USD5,229/t) late last week. "I usually could purchase 60t every month but only 30t in March upon our lower consumption," revealed the consumer on Wednesday. He added that both two suppliers turned reluctant to move prices down further upon the firm prices of zircon sand, and he foresees the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would go steady next week.
The consumer, based on an annual consumption capacity of about 700t for fused zirconia, plans to consume 30t in March, down by about 20t from last month, holding around 20t in stock.
Another consumer in Henan revealed that he bought 20t of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min at RMB36,000/t (USD5,229/t) on Tuesday from a supplier who insisted on RMB36,300/t (USD5,273/t) last Friday. "Our consumption in March cut by at least one third against February dragged by the sluggish demand of our ending products," revealed the consumer on Wednesday. He added that most suppliers rejected any further bargains upon the firm prices of zircon sand, and he foresees the mainstream prices of fused desilicated zirconia 98.5%min in China would stay firm this week.
