Chinese HC ferrochrome prices unchanged

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Mar 23 – Most suppliers hold watchful attitudes and keep their prices unchanged from early this week. Currently, the mainstream prices for Chinese HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max stand at RMB9,000-9,200/t (USD1,317-1,347/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from early this week. Insiders predict the mainstream prices would keep unchanged in the coming three days as most suppliers have no intention to change their prices and would like to wait for the purchase prices of steel mills.
A trader from South China mentioned, "We quote RMB9,400/t (USD1,376/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max and could accept the price as low as RMB9,300/t (USD1,361/t) at present, in line with early this week". They did not conclude any deal today and last sold around 20t at RMB9,300/t (USD1,361/t) EXW D/P early this week. They have no plan to change their price and predict the mainstream prices would keep flat in the coming three days.
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of around 200t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, estimates to sell around 200t in March, in line with last month. They have no inventory at the moment.
A producer from South China disclosed, "We offer RMB9,300/t (USD1,361/t) EXW D/P for HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max and could not accept any prices lower than RMB9,200/t (USD1,347/t) at the moment, unchanged from early this week". They did not conclude any deal today and last sold around 30t at RMB9,200/t (USD1,347/t) EXW D/P mid this week. They would wait for the purchase prices of steel mills in the coming three days and keep their prices steady, but they hold pessimistic attitudes and predict the purchase prices of steel mills would drop in April. They estimate the mainstream prices would keep flat in the following three days.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 84,000t of HC ferrochrome Cr52%min C8%max, predicts to produce around 2,000t in March, unchanged from last month. They have no stock at the present.
