Panzhihua Gangcheng Group resumes rebar production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Mar 23 - As one major rebar producer in Sichuan, Panzhihua Gangcheng Iron and Steel Group Co. (Panzhihua Gangcheng Group) restarted production from March 8, with output increasing by about 1,500tpd.
"We resumed rebar production on March 8 after the 7-day suspension and the output stands at around 1,500tpd these days," said a source from the company, adding that they plan to produce almost 36,000t of rebar in March, down from 42,000t in February.
Panzhihua Gangcheng Group owns an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons for rebar. It produced about 70,000t of rebar so far this year and its output totaled almost 380,000t in 2022. Currently it holds an inventory of roughly 30,000t, without much change from three weeks ago.
In Panzhihua, Sichuan, the mainstream prices of rebar HRB400E Φ18-25mm hovered at RMB3,950-4,000/t (USD579-586/t) on Thursday, in line with Wednesday. Upon slow market performance, rebar prices would go down in coming two days.
