Yijiang Aluminum builds another aluminum rod production line

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Mar 23 - Baotou Yijiang Aluminum Co., Ltd., a new aluminum rod producer in Inner Mongolia, plans to put the second production line into operation in June and expects to produce about 4,000t of aluminum rod in March.
"With a designed annual production capacity of 80,000t of aluminum rod, our company has two aluminum rod production lines, each equipped with a 25-ton smelting furnace. We put the first production line into operation at the end of 2022, began to construct the second after the Spring Festival and expect to put it into operation in June, with the equipment being installed currently. We expect to produce about 4,000t of aluminum rod in March, up from about 3,700t in February," a source from the company said, adding that they expect to produce about 9,000t of aluminum bar in March.
With an annual production capacity of 80,000t of aluminum rod, the producer holds no stock now.
On Monday, mainstream prices for Chinese aluminum ingot 99.7%min in warehouse Shanghai stood at RMB18,180-18,280/t (USD2,641-2,656/t) EXW D/P, up by RMB60/t (USD8.72/t) from the previous trading day. Despite the recovering demand for aluminum ingot, prices for Chinese aluminum ingot 99.7%min might move down in the coming week depressed by the frequent bad news from the financial industry.
