"We offered RMB3,450/t (USD500/t) EXW D/P for fused magnesia MgO 97.5%min, Ca/Si=1min, B . D . 3 . 45min, 0-30mm today and could accept no concession, unmoved from last Friday", a producer in Dashiqiao revealed, adding that they received no inquiry today and last sold about 300t late last week at such price . As they last bought around 10,000t of magnesite lump, MgO 47%min, CaO 0 . 7%max, SiO2 0.8%max at RMB350/t (USD51/t) delivered from Haicheng early last month, the producer intends to stick to their current price and believes that the mainstream prices of Chinese fused magnesia would keep flat in the following week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 38,400t of fused magnesia, predicts to produce about 3,000t in March, in line with last month. They have an inventory of nearly 2,000t at present
Another producer in Dashiqiao claimed, "We quoted RMB3,400/t (USD493/t) EXW D/A 180 days and would accept no more concessions for fused magnesia MgO 97%min, Ca/Si=1min, B.D . 3.45min, 0-30mm since last Friday", adding that they offered RMB3,500/t (USD507/t) for a consumer who wanted to buy 500t today but they expected it hard to close the deal because they believed it not a firm bid. They last sold about 100t at RMB3,400/t (USD493/t) mid last week . In spite of soft demand, they plan to stick to their current price because they last purchased about 10,000t of magnesite lump, MgO 47%min, CaO 0 . 6%max, SiO2 0.6%max at RMB400/t (USD58/t) delivered from Haicheng early last month . They predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese fused magnesia would remain stable in the forthcoming week.
Based on the production capacity of 72,000tpy of fused magnesia, the producer predicts to produce approximately 4,000t in March, unchanged MoM. They hold no stocks now.
