Aluminij Industries to restart aluminum billets production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Mar 23 - Aluminij Industries, a major aluminum billets producer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, plans to restart production in the first week of April and might produce close to 10,000t next month, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We plan to resume operation in the first week of next month and might produce close to 10,000t next month," said the source, who once shut down in late 2022 for the sluggish demand and holds around 8,000t in stock now.
With 12 melting furnaces and the total production capacity of 225,000tpy, they produced around 120,000t in 2022 and no production was released so far this year.
Present mainstream prices for aluminum ingot 99.7%min in Europe keep at USD2,230-2,260/t delivered in warehouse, stable from early this week . The demand remains weak now and producers maintain low operating rates.
