BMI to expand calcined bauxite production capacity

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Mar 23 - Bautek Minerals Industrials (BMI), a major calcined bauxite producer in Brazil, is scheduled to expand production by around 3,000tpm from this September, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We would expand production by 3,000tpm from late this September," said the source, whose production capacity would reach 72,000tpy from 60,000tpy, as they will enlarge the export markets by entering China and India.
With current three kilns and the production capacity of 60,000tpy, they would produce around 3,000t in March, up from around 2,000t last month and hold no stock now. They produced around 40,000t in 2022.
Current mainstream prices for calcined bauxite 86%min from China keep at USD470-490/t FOB China, stable from one week ago. The demand remains flat and producers anticipate stable prices in the coming week.
