Alufer Mining's first vessel of bauxite departs from Guinea

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Mar 23 - Alufer Mining, a major bauxite producer from Guinea, exported the first vessel of bauxite loading around 175,000t on March 7, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"The first vessel loading around 175,000t departed from Guinea on March 7," said the source, adding that the vessel named as BRAVE SAILOR started loading from late February and scheduled to arrive Huanghua port of China on April 23. The second vessel named as PSU CHILE commenced loading on March 8, with around 200,000t.
Based on the production capacity of 7 million tonnes per year, they would produce over 400,000t in March, a bit higher than February and hold over 1 million tonnes of stock in the port now. They produced less than 1 million tonnes in 2022 and target 7 million tonnes in 2023.
Present mainstream prices for Guinean bauxite Al2O3 45%min SiO2 3%max stay at USD65.5-67.5/dt CIF China, down by USD1/dt from one week ago. As the bauxite supply from Guinea increased, bauxite prices reduced.
