Xinjiang East Hope resumes aluminum bar production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Mar 23 - Xinjiang East Hope Nonferrous Metal Co., Ltd., one of the major aluminum bar producers in Northwest China, resumed production in mid-February and produced about 30,000t in February.
"We suspended production of aluminum bar in mid-December 2022 because of the cold winter in Xinjiang, and resumed production in mid-February. At present, we operate at full capacity, and 15 furnaces in 8 production lines are all in operation. We produced about 30,000t in February," a source from the company said, predicting that the output of aluminum bar would reach around 50,000t in March.
With an annual production capacity of 600,000t, the company owns eight aluminum bar production lines, each with two 25-ton smelting furnaces. They produced about 500,000t and 504,000t in 2021 and 2022 respectively, holding no stock now.
On Monday, TCs for Chinese aluminum bar 6063 φ120mm in warehouse Wuxi stood at RMB470-510/t (USD67.75-73.52/t) EXW D/P, up by RMB10/t (USD1.44/t) from the previous trading day. Insiders said that the demand for aluminum bar keeps improving and producers hold sufficient orders, so Chinese aluminum bar 6063 TC would move up in the coming week.
