Galuminium to increase alumina production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Mar 23 - Guizhou Galuminium Alumina Co., a small alumina producer in Guizhou, is scheduled to produce close to 60,000t of alumina in March, up from less than 50,000t last month, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We plan to produce close to 60,000t of alumina this month, as our bauxite production will improve," said the source, who produced less than 50,000t last month and holds no stock now.
With two production lines and the total production capacity of 900,000tpy, they produced around 600,000t in 2022 and over 100,000t so far this year.
Current mainstream prices for alumina 98.5%min in southwest China stand at RMB2,850-2,870/t (USD411-414/t) EXW, stable from late last week. As aluminum smelters in Yunnan cut production, the demand for alumina becomes weak now.
