Ruili Sanlian suspends tin concentrate production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Mar 23 - As the raw materials have not arrived at the factory, Ruili Sanlian Mining Co., Ltd., one of major tin concentrate 40%min producers in Yunnan, suspended the production since early this month with no output of tin concentrate in March, the source from the company to Asian Metal.
"We suspended the production of tin concentrate since early this month due to limited raw materials, recorded no output in March, down by around 50 metal tons from last month," the source reported from the company, adding that they purchased about 400 metal tons of raw materials from Rangoon, with a month shipment date. They would probably resume production next month.
Based on an annual production capacity of 3,000 metal tons, they suspended production in January for the same reason. They added that although the China-Myanmar border crossings resumed on January 8th this year, the actual transportation of their goods still depended on sea transportation and they lost the advantage of overland transportation due to long freight cycle period. They mainly purchased tin concentrate 20%-30%min from Myanmar to process to 40%min and sold to local smelters.
Currently, the mainstream prices of tin concentrate 40%min stand at RMB183,000-185,000/metal ton (USD26,482-26,771/metal ton) delivered 80% down in Yunnan, down by RMB1,000/metal ton (USD145/metal ton) from last Friday. Due to limited supply but watchful attitudes from downstream, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese tin concentrate would keep stable this week.
