MGH Mining to restart bauxite production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 3 Mar 23 - MGH Mining Enterprise Co., a medium-sized bauxite producer in Turkey, is scheduled to resume production by the middle of March and might produce less than 20,000t in March, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We plan to resume production from the middle of this month and might produce less than 20,000t this month," said the source, who once shut down operation in early December, 2022 for the cold weather in winter. They once planned to restart operation in early March but postponed for the devastating earthquake, which blocked ports and roads.
With the annual production capacity of 1 million tonnes, they produced around 500,000t in 2022 and hold no stock now. They show interest in buyers from China and plan to increase production in 2023.
Current mainstream prices for bauxite Al2O3 55%min SiO2 7%min stand at USD40-42/t FOB Turkey, stable from two weeks ago. After winter, bauxite producers from Turkey would restart operation gradually since mid-March.
