"Our company resumed one 10-ton furnace in late February, which would enter production on March 3. Our zinc alloy output would reach around 1,500t in March, higher than about 1,000t in February", a source from the company said, and added that they have three furnaces in operation now.
The company, with an annual production capacity of 50,000t of zinc alloy and three furnaces in total, commenced commercial production since November 2022. They hold no inventory at present and predict to produce about 1,500t in March, compared to almost 1,000t in February.
On Wednesday, the mainstream prices of die-casting zinc alloy Zamak-3 in South China hovered at RMB23,600-23,800/t (USD3,428-3,457/t) EXW, up by RMB280/t (USD41/t) from Tuesday. Given the current strong market demand, insiders believe that the prevailing prices of Chinese die-casting zinc alloy would go up in the coming week with stabilized TCs.
