BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Mar 23 - As downstream vanadium product prices stayed weak during the past week, Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min prices could hardly rise. However, as few suppliers have inventory for the moment, the market mentality stays in a stalemate for the moment. At present, the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min stand at RMB140,000-142,000/t (USD9.3-9.4/lb V2O5) EXW D/A 180 days, unchanged from late last week. Considering that steel mills' vanadium alloy demand keep strong now, insiders believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min would keep firm in the coming week.
"Prices of vanadium nitride we inquired stayed in a stalemate at around RMB205,000/t (USD38.3/kg V) EXW D/P during the past week, which couldn't offer effective support for raw material price rise," said a producer in South China. However, as they had no inventory pressure, they didn't loosen their prices during the past week. For firm bids, they ask at least RMB139,000/t (USD9.2/kg V) EXW D/P now. They last sold 32t at this price level middle last week.
