Thailand's coal imports down by 15.6% YoY in Jan-Sep

Data released by Thailand Customs indicated that Thailand imported about 16.15 million tons of coal (including lignite) in the first nine months of 2022, down by 15.6% from the same period last year. The imports of bituminous coal and anthracite totaled about 15.98 million tons, down by 15.58% YoY, and those of lignite totaled 169,000t, down by 19.6% YoY.
In September, Thailand imported about 1.6 million tons of coal (including lignite), down by 27.6% YoY and 26.2% MoM. The imports of bituminous coal and anthracite were about 1.59 million tons, down by 33.9% YoY and 26.3% MoM.
