Hongxiang Silicon Materials to invest RMB9.5 billion in 100,000tpy Type-N high-purity crystalline silicon project

On September 21 at the Finance Forum of the 7th China-Eurasia Expo, Hongxiang Silicon Materials (Urumchi) Co., Ltd. signed the investment agreement on the 100,000tpy high-purity crystalline silicon project.
According to the agreement, total project investment will be RMB9.5 billion (USD1.33 billion) and construction will last for 15 months. The project will be located in the small-sized start-up enterprise incubator park in Midong district, Urumchi. The project will consist of two phases, with phase one of 50,000tpy capacity expected to go into production in Q4 2023 and phase two of 50,000tpy capacity to go into construction in March 2023 and in operation in August 2024. When the project ramps up to its nameplate capacity, it will provide Type-N high-quality polycrystalline silicon for the photovoltaic industry.
