Ningxia aims to achieve over 32.5GW of installed PV capacity by 2025

The government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on September 13 released the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for energy development. The plan calls for a faster growth in solar power generation, with installed PV power capacity in the region to double to over 32.5GW by 2025.
According to the document, the region saw fast growth in wind power and solar power generation during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), and its installed new energy capacity exceeded 25GW by the end of the period, with capacity and power generation accounting for 43.5% and 17.7% of the total installed capacity and power generated. In addition, its production capacity of single crystal silicon accounted for one sixth of the total worldwide capacity by the end of the period, with a complete PV manufacturing industrial chain established.
