WBMS: Global lead market sees supply shortage of 108,000 tons in Jan-Jun 2022

According to the latest report data released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) on Wednesday, the global lead market had a supply shortage of 108,000 tons from January to June 2022, while it had a deficit of 110,400 tons in 2021. By the end of June, total inventories were 18,600 tons lower than the end of 2021.
In the first six months of 2022, global refined lead (primary and secondary) production reached nearly 7.15 million tons, an increase of 1.3% over the same period last year. China's apparent demand is expected to be 3.553 million tons, basically the same as the corresponding period last year, accounting for about 49% of the total global demand.
In June, the output of refined lead recorded about 1.217 million tons, and the demand reported about 1.215 million tons.
