WBMS: Global zinc market sees supply surplus of 168,000t in H1

Data released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) on Wednesday indicated that the global zinc market saw supply surplus of 168,000t in the first six months of 2022 and supply shortage of 111,800t throughout 2021.
The global output of refined zinc went up by 0.2% YOY in the first half of 2022, but the demand went down by 3 . 5% . Meanwhile, China's apparent demand was 3,182,100t, accounting for 47% of the global total.
The global output and demand for zinc was 1,155,900t and 1,185,300t in June 2022 respectively.
