According to India's Ministry of Coal, during April to June 2022, India's coal output totaled 204.9 million tons, up by 31.24% from 156.1 million tons in the last same period, and meanwhile its coal sales volume recorded 224.7 million tons in total, an increase of 14.46% in comparison with 196 million tons a year earlier.
In the current fiscal year (from April 2022 to March 2023), India's coal production target is 911 million tons, 17% higher than the previous fiscal year.
