CPCA: Preliminary statistics show that China's passenger car retail sales down by 17% YoY in May

According to the preliminary data released by China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), China's passenger car retail sales recorded 1,354,000 units in the whole month of May 2022, down by 17% YoY, 17 percentage points lower than that in April, while up by 30% MOM; China's passenger car manufacturers wholesale volume posted 1,557,000 units, down by 3% YoY, 23 percentage points lower than that in April, while up by 64% MOM.
From June 1 to June 5, China's passenger car retail sales were 168,000 units, down by 5% YoY and down by 47% from last week, while up by 6% from the same period of last month; China's passenger car wholesale volume totaled 163,000 units, down by 7% YoY and down by 64% from last week, while up by 17% from the same period of last month.
