South Korea launches anti-dumping investigation on aluminum hydroxide from China

On February 28, 2022, Korea Trade Commission issued announcement No. 2022-4 in the official announcement of South Korea, stating that it would initiate an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum hydroxide originating in China and Australia upon the application submitted by a South Korean enterprise on January 19, 2022. The product involved is aluminum hydroxide in white powder form with the molecular formula Al(OH)3 and average particle size (Dp50) less than or equal to 55 microns. The product involved in the case is under Korean tax No. 2818.30.9000. The dumping investigation period of this case is expected to be from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021, and the injury investigation period is expected to be from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021. Chalco Shandong Co., Ltd. and its affiliates, as well as Longkou Donghai Alumina Co., Ltd. and its affiliates, were involved in the case. Unless otherwise extended (up to 2 months), the preliminary determination will be made within 3 months.
