India extends validity of anti-dumping measures against aluminum foil from China

On February 14, 2022, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced that the Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 8/2022-Customs (ADD) on the same day to extend the validity of the current anti-dumping measures on aluminum foil 5.5 microns to 80 microns originating or imported from China until June 15, 2022.
On December 15, 2015, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India initiated an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum foil originating or imported from China. On March 10, 2017, India made an affirmative final anti-dumping ruling on the case. On May 16, 2017, the Ministry of Finance of India issued Notification No. 23/2017-Customs (ADD), deciding to impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese products involved in the case for a period of 5 years, valid until May 15, 2022. On September 16, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India initiated the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on aluminum foil 5.5 microns to 80 microns originating or imported from China in response to the applications submitted by Indian enterprises Hindalco Industries Ltd., Raviraj Foils Ltd. and Jindal India Ltd.
