According to data released by Indonesia Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia produced a total of 614 million tons of coal in 2021, up by about 50 million tons from 564 million tons in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%.
In January 2022, Indonesian coal output decreased by 32.7% YoY to 31.78 million tons, over 15 million tons less than 47.19 million tons in January 2021.
