In 2021, the iron and steel industry continued to deepen the supply side reform, further consolidate the decapacity achievement, promote the low carbon transformation and stabilize prices coping with demand changes at home and abroad to maintain security and stability of the supply chain
The total crude steel output in 2021 was 1,033 million tons, down by about 32 million tons or 3.0% YoY . The apparent consumption of crude steel was about 992 million tons, down by 5 . 3% YoY.
The total exports of steel products were 66.9 million tons in 2021, up by 24 . 6% year on year; and the total imports were 14 . 27 million tons, down by 29 . 5% year on year.
