According to Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission, major thermal power plants in Chongqing purchased about 3.60 million tonnes of coal in December 2021, up by 128.11% YOY. In 2021, the total purchase volume was 22.08 million tonnes, up by 50.03% from the previous year.
In December 2021, the city's major thermal power plants consumed about 2.39 million tonnes of coal, down by 15.44% YOY. In 2021, the total consumption increased by 37.26% YOY to 20.97 million tonnes.
By the end of December 2021, major thermal power plants held coal inventory of 3.53 million tonnes, an increase of 1 million tonnes from 2.53 million tonnes a year ago, up by 39.65% YOY.
