Zimasco to invest $35 million in new ferrochrome smelter in Kwekwe

Zimasco, a company under Sinosteel, reported that it will invest $35 million in a new ferrochrome smelter at its plant in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe, as it aims to increase capacity by 40% by the end of 2022.
Zimasco, which currently owns large undeveloped land, will see its new furnace's ferrochrome capacity reach 252,000 tonnes from the current 180,000 tonnes. The project will also include the construction of a sintering plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes.
