Turkey's coal imports up by 22.9% MoM in Jun

Turkey's latest foreign trade statistics showed that the country imported 2.836 million tons of coal in June 2021, down by 15.3% from 3.347 million tons of last June while up by 22.9% from 2.308 million tons in May. Specifically, the imports of thermal coal recorded 2.139 million tons, down by 21.3% YoY and up by 11.6% MoM; and those of coking coal reached 0.627 million tons, up by 15.3% YoY and 124.1% MoM.
From January to June 2021, Turkey imported a total of about 18.9 million tons of coal, a year-on-year increase of about 6.5%. Among them, the imports of thermal coal and coking coal were 15.268 million tons and 2.989 million tons respectively, up by 5.7% and 10.7% from a year earlier.
