Data showed that Alberta produced 870,400t of bituminous coal in May, but did not produce bituminous coal in April; the sub-bituminous coal output was 407,300t, an increase of 23.57% from the previous month.
From January to May this year, Alberta produced a total of 4.04 million tons of coal, including 1 . 75 million tons of bituminous coal and 2 . 29 million tons of sub-bituminous coal.
