South32 Company's thermal coal output drops 19% YOY in 2020-21 fiscal year

On July 21, the miner South32 Company announced its quarterly operation report, showing that in the 2020-21 fiscal year (July 2020-June 2021), the total output of South32 thermal coal reached 19.561 million tons, a YOY decrease of 19 %.
Among them, South Africa's thermal coal output reached 18.086 million tons, down 20% YOY; Illawarra's thermal coal output reached 1.475 million tons, an increase of 1% YOY.
In April-June this year, the company's total thermal coal output reached 3.464 million tons, a decrease of 14% YOY. Among them, the company's thermal coal output in South Africa reached 3.079 million tons, a decrease of 41% YOY and 18% MOM; the output of Illawarra thermal coal reached 385,000 tons, a decrease of 10% YOY, and an increase of 50% MOM.
In terms of sales volume, in the 2020-21 fiscal year, the company's total sales of thermal coal reached 19.942 million tons, a decrease of 16% YOY. In April-June, the sales of South32 thermal coal arrived at 3.671 million tons, down 35% YOY and 12% MOM.
In April-June, South32's thermal coal sales in South Africa arrived at 3.272 million tons, down 40% YOY and 16% MOM; Illawarra thermal coal sales arrived at 399,000 tons, down 7% YOY and up 42% MOM.
