Australian EQ Resources announced that it has intersected high-grade tungsten during drilling of the Mt Carbine open-pit mine in Cairns, Queensland.
The company carried out a 17-hole drill program at the site, targeting shallows high-grade zones of tungsten below the previous open-pit floor of the historic mine.
Initial results from the drilling have been received, with best intercepts of 4.35 metres at 1 . 31 per cent tungsten trioxide (WO3) from 123 . 37 metres, including 0 . 54 metres at 8 . 03 per cent WO3 recorded.
EQR will consider stripping the open pit as part of ongoing Bankable Feasibility Study for the Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine.
