Mongolia's coal output rises by 70.4% YoY in Jan-Apr

The data released by National Statistical Office of Mongolia showed that the country recorded a total coal output of about 15.23 million tons in the first four months of 2021, up by 6.29 million tons or 70.4% from the same period last year, but down by about 1.56 million tons or 9.3% from the corresponding period of 2019. In particular, the output of hard coal was about 12.50 million tons, up by 86.2% year on year, and that of brown coal was about 2.73 million tons, up by 14.9% year on year.
In April, Mongolia produced about 2.84 million tons of coal, increasing by about 1.89 million tons or 198.5% compared to April 2020. In particular, the output of hard coal and brown coal was about 2.30 million tons and 537,400 tons respectively, up by 301.8% and 28.1% year on year.
