South32's metallurgical coal production in first nine months of FY2021 up by 20% YOY

On April 27, the quarterly report issued by South32, an Australian miner, showed that in the first nine months of FY2021 (July 2020 to June 2021), South32 produced a total of 4.83 million tons of metallurgical coal, a year-on-year increase by 20%. All of the company's metallurgical coal production comes from the Illawarra Metallurgical Coal Mine.
In the first nine months of FY2021, the commercial coal output of Illawarra Metallurgical Coal Mine totaled 5.92 million tons, an increase of 17% year-on-year; sales volume was 5.85 million tons, an increase of 12% year-on-year. Among them, metallurgical coal production was 4.83 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 20%; sales volume was 4.707 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12%.
From January to March 2021, the metallurgical coal output of South32 was 1.568 million tons, up by 34% YOY and 12 % MOM.
