Shaanxi strictly controls high-energy-consuming projects with coal consumption as mainstay

On April 20, the Information Office of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government held a series of press conferences on "Concentrate on high-quality development to write a new chapter in catching up and surpassing". The conferences stated that under the requirements of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality, for high-energy-consuming projects in the future, especially those projects focusing on coal consumption, the government should strictly control. In particular, some small units, small coal producers and small refining and chemical projects should be gradually withdrawn to make room for new high-quality projects.
The conferences also pointed out that in the next step, Shaanxi will formulate and improve industrial development plans and energy development plans in accordance with the national peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutral policy requirements, accelerate the optimization of energy structure and industrial structure, build a green, low-carbon and circular-development economic system, and promote a comprehensive green transformation of production and life.
