Alro Group unit to invest 10 mln euro in new aluminum extrusion line

Vimetco Extrusion, a downstream subsidiary of Romania's Alro Group, is investing 10 million euro ($81 million) in an automatic extrusion line for aluminum profiles, the group's flagship company Alro said.
This project is financed both through commercial credit and bank credit for investments, Alro said.
The new extrusion line which is to be installed at Vimetco's plant in Slatina is expected to generate cost-savings and increased operational efficiency for the company.
Besides Vimetco Extrusion, Alro Group includes aluminium manufacturer Alro, alumina producer Alum, bauxite mining company Sierra Mineral Holdings, holding and management company Conef, holding company Global Aluminium Ltd. and marketing services provider Bauxite Marketing Ltd.
Alro has an installed annual production capacity of 265,000 tonnes of electrolytic aluminum, 35,000 tonnes of recycled aluminum and 335,000 tonnes of primary cast aluminum.
