China's import orders for recycled steel raw material exceed 15,000 tons

From January 1, 2021, China allows domestic companies to import recycled steel raw material to replace iron ore. Compared with the use of iron ore, steelmaking with recycled steel raw material can greatly reduce pollutant emissions. A total of six orders for importing recycled steel raw material have been signed, and three orders have successfully passed customs inspection.
Lianjin International under Ouyeel Lianjin (China Baowu) imported 3,000 tons of heavy-duty recycled steel raw materials from Mitsui & Co., Ltd., which was delivered from Japan to Shanghai on January 14 and passed customs inspection on January 29.
Zhejiang Judong Co., Ltd. imported 2,800 tons of recycled steel raw materials from Heiwashoji, Inc., which was shipped from Japan on January 26 and passed customs inspection on February 4.
Shagang International Trade imported 3,000 tons of heavy-duty recycled steel raw materials from Hanwa Co., Ltd., which was expected to ship from Japan in mid-to-late February.
Ansteel imported 2,000 tons of heavy-duty recycled steel raw materials from Hanwa Co., Ltd., which was expected to ship from Japan before the end of February.
Guangzhou Iron and Steel Group imported a batch of recycled steel raw materials from Macau, China. The material arrived at the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge on January 16, and successfully passed customs inspection on February 5.
Shaanxi Iron and Steel Group Tongchuan Import and Export Company imported 5,000 tons of recycled steel raw materials from Peru, South America. The cargo is expected to arrive at Rizhao Port in mid-March.
