Tongli Germanium to resume germanium metal production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Feb 21 - The only one producer in north China, Xilingol Tongli Germanium Industry Co. plans to resume germanium metal 99.99%min on 1th April and expects to produce around 1t of germanium metal 99.99%min a month, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.
The source said, "We plan to resume germanium metal 99.99%min production in early April after the completion of the sewage treatment project, and we will not exceed the resumption of production on 1th May at the latest, with a monthly output of about 1t." Currently, they keep busy with the sewage treatment project which started in August 2020 with an investment of nearly RMB28 million (USD4,330,946) and they expect to complete the project by the end of March. They have no offers at present with no inventory.
The producer, based on a production capacity of 15tpy of germanium metal 99.99%min, halted the production in May 2019 and produced about 3t totally in 2019. Their raw materials are mainly derived from their own lignite.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese germanium metal 99.99%min hover at RMB6,800-7,200/kg (USD1,053-1,115/kg) EXW D/P, unchanged from early last week. The producer predicts that the prices would remain stable in the coming week given that producers generally insist on their prices.
