Japan's coke imports increase by 260.73% month-on-month in December

Trade statistics from the Ministry of Finance of Japan show that in December, Japan's coke imports amounted to 119,400 tons, an increase of 255.36% year-on-year and 260.73% month-on-month, which was the highest level since August 2019.
That month, Japan imported 116,300 tons of coke from mainland China, an increase of 263.44% year-on-year and 271.57% month-on-month, accounting for 97.4% of Japan's total coke imports.
In 2020, Japan imported a total of 387,700 tons of coke, a year-on-year decrease of 48.85%.
