Shandong Shengrong resumes HC ferromanganese full operation

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 18 Jan 21 - Shandong Shengrong New Materials Co., one of major HC ferromanganese producers in China, resumed HC ferromanganese full operation on December 31th. They expect to produce about 7,000t in January, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.
"We cut one of our two submerged arc furnaces of 16,500kVA for HC ferromanganese production on August 2nd for equipment maintenance. We resumed HC ferromanganese Mn 65%min, C 7%max full operation on December 31th and expect to produce about 7,000t this month," the producer revealed, adding that now they are holding about 3,500t of stocks for manganese ore. They quote RMB6,300/t (USD983/t) EXW D/P for HC ferromanganese Mn 65%min, C 7%max at present with a discount of RMB50/t (USD7/t) for regular clients, while they offered RMB6,000/t (USD936/t) with no concession last week. They sold about 200t at RMB6,250/t (USD975/t) this week and sold about 100t at RMB6,000/t (USD936/t) last week. As most suppliers would lift prices further, they expect that prices of HC ferromanganese would go up further in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 100,000t of HC ferromanganese Mn 65%min, C 7%max, the producer produced about 80,000t in 2019 and about 67,500t in 2020. The producer expects to produce about 7,000t this month, compared to about 4,000t last month. They are holding no stocks now, unchanged MOM.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese HC ferromanganese Mn 65%min, C 7%max stand at RMB6,100-6,300/t (USD952-983/t) EXW D/P, up by RMB150/t (USD23/t) from last week.
