U.S. steel scrap exports increase by 26.6% MOM in Oct

According to the latest data released by the US International Trade Commission, U.S. steel scrap exports totaled 1,491,126 tons in October, an increase of 26.6% from the previous month, but a decrease of 5.9% from the same period last year.
Malaysia was the largest export destination of steel scrap from the U.S. in October, with a total of 365,237 tons exported to the country, a sharp increase of 93.1% from September and an increase of 7.9% from the corresponding period last year. Other major destinations included Mexico (265,957 tons), Bangladesh (200,087 tons), Vietnam (125,411 tons) and Saudi Arabia (88,773 tons).
