Hualian Indium to stop indium ingot production permanently

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Nov 20 - One major indium ingot 99.995%min producers in Yunnan, China, Kunming Hualian Indium Industry Co. plans to suspend indium ingot 99.995%min production permanently in the middle of December, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.
The source said, "As our company keeps for sale, we expect to halt indium ingot 99.995%min production permanently in the middle of next month and plan to lay off nearly 50 employees." They sold all of their stocks, around 3.7t at RMB1,030/kg (USD157/kg) EXW D/P early this week and around 1.5t delivered two weeks later.
The producer, based on a production capacity of 30tpy of indium ingot 99.995%min, expects to produce about 2.5t in November, unchanged from last month. They hold no inventory at present, in line with the end of October. They mainly do the OME business for China Yun Copper (Group) Co., Limited. They produced about 13.6t till now in 2020, compared with about 6t totally in 2019.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese indium ingot 99.995%min hover at RMB1,040-1,070/kg (USD158-163/kg) EXW D/P, down by RMB20/kg (USD3/kg) from late last week. Considering that most suppliers would like to insist on their prices, insiders predict that the prices would stay stable in the following week.
