German Steel Federation: German crude steel production in August falls 13.2% YOY

The German Steel Federation (WV Stahl) said on Thursday that in August, German crude steel production fell 13.2% year on year to 2.83 million tons. From January to August, German crude steel production totaled 22.71 million tons, down 16.5% from the same period last year. This shows that German crude steel production is still in a downward trend, and is hard to stabilize.
The data released by the agency also showed that in August, German pig iron production was 1.82 million tons, down 15% year on year. From January to August, German pig iron output was 14.26 million tons, down 19.1% year on year.
In August, German hot-rolled steel production was 2.4 million tons, down 13.2% year on year. From January to August, German hot-rolled steel output was 19.86 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.8%.
