Italy imports 4.285 million tons of finished steel from non-EU countries in H1

According to data released by Federacciai of Italy, the country imported 4.285 million tons of finished steel from non-EU countries in the first half (H1) of 2020, down by 32.4% compared with 6.335 million tons in the same period of last year.
In the first half of this year, Italy imported long products of 172,000t and flat products of 2.331 million tons from non-EU countries, down by 22.2% YOY and 30.7% YOY respectively.
During this period, Italy exported 1.871 million tons of finished steel to non-EU countries, down by 16.1% compared with 2.229 million tons in the same period of last year. In particular, it exported long products of 498,000t and flat products of 590,000t to non-EU countries, down by 18.9% YOY and 3.3% YOY respectively.
